TACTAN

A tactile version of the board game "Settlers of Catan".  Tactan is a game for 3 to 4 players that involves both luck and strategy. It is relatively easy to learn the rules but takes some time to hone the skills of strategy and negotiation required to do well. Different layouts of the board keep the game fresh each time it is played and the luck of the dice can add a reality check to the best of plans. Novice players can learn by teaming up with another to get started.

The game plan: Several independent communities have recently settled on the uninhabited island of TACTAN which is now made up of hexagonal regions of different landscapes that can yield valuable resources on the throw of dice. Up to 4 different settler communities compete by collecting and trading these resources to build roads, settlements, cities and make other progress to help gain victory points. The first community to reach 10 victory points wins the game.
