20 Tactile Trees
These tactile graphics have been created to give the touch reader some idea of the amazing and widely different forms of trees that are out of hands reach. They don't attempt to illustrate the details of leaves, flowers, seedpods or bark of the trees but hopefully inspire some exploration of these at ground level, knowing what is growing above your head.
Most tree groups have many, if not hundreds of different species, each with different variations of form. These graphics can only give a general representation for the chosen groups, including their size.
Each graphic is labelled with the name of the tree in grade 2 Braille and an indication of scale is given by a figure standing at the bottom right of the page.
Made from 0.5mm HIPS plastic, loosely ring bound and stored in an A4 document bag.
I was intending to write details about each of the trees illustrated but have decided that such information can be better sourced to suit the age and experience of the touch reader from available online texts.
